Pony x Baskèts x Ceizer set to launch ‘Blue Collar Kings’ triple collab

 Written by Daan Rombaut

The first Dutch sneaker collab of 2015 is now a reality: New York sneaker brand PONY has teamed up with Amsterdam streetwear store Baskèts and typographic designer Pieter Ceizer for a triple collab, which appropriately consists of three products. The concept behind the collaboration is ‘Blue Collar Kings’, a reference to the blue collar workers who used to live in the Jordaan neighbourhood of Amsterdam, which is also where Baskèts opened up its first store. Blue is the dominant colour, which we see on a pair of PONY City Wings, a varsity jacket and a crewneck sweater.

The Baskèts x PONY City Wings feature a perforated blue suede upper and a light blue PONY Chevron on the inside. Where you would normally find the City Wings logo, Pieter Ceizer has designed a ‘Blue Collar Kings’ coat of arms. This coat of arms has been enlarged to fit the back of the varsity jacket as well. The sleeves are faux leather while the jacket is made from a wool upper. The theme of the collection is also embroidered on the front of the jacket next to the PONY logo and PONY x Baskèts caption. The lining is a print of Ceizer’s alphabetic typography. The third part of the triptych is a dark blue sweater featuring an embroidered ‘Blue Collar Kings’ in light blue.

The PONY x Baskèts x Ceizer ‘Blue Coller Kings’ will be released Thursday 5 February at Baskèts. More info on Facebook.

PONY has aligned with Amsterdam streetwear concept store Baskèts and typographic artist Ceizer to deliver a unique capsule collection entitled “Blue Collar Kings”.

Together we are dropping a royal winter trifecta, consisting of PONY’s iconic City Wings silhouette, an embroidered sweatshirt and varsity jacket, all decorated with typographic art by Pieter Ceizer.
