THE CLEAN & CLASSIC STYLED CANVAS SNEAKER RESURFACES IN PONY’S CAVETTA COLLECTION

“Bringing back the basics in attitude and style”

 

MANILA, Philippines—New York-based sneaker brand PONY recently dropped a new collection which oozes with the characteristic  ‘whatever-it-takes’ and ‘let’s-get-it-on’ attitude of its Brooklyn roots.

 

The Cavetta collection boasts a simple yet striking silhouette in fresh colorways, bringing back basic styles and shades, shifting the attention to its Chevron logo in accent colors, leaving enough space to highlight the wearer’s own personality.

 

This new release’s distinct retro vibe still adheres to the sleek styling of its earlier predecessors with slight modifications. The upper—dressed in white, black, pink, and grey—is made of premium canvas material serving as the perfect base to highlight PONY’s iconic chevron in rich leather. The new rendition also features a vulcanized rubber outsole and comfortable footbed to cap off a minimalist retro look that only a heritage brand such as PONY can pull off.

 

The design of the Cavetta reflects of the resurging trends of the 90’s: a time when sneaker culture and fashion was all about simplicity and the wearer. It was a distinct and memorable decade for streetwear style. Canvas kicks were definitely among the most popular footwear choices which is now making a huge comeback with PONY at the helm as one of the originators of the look.

 

In a recent launch event held at XX XX bar in Makati last June 9, PONY officially introduced the Cavetta collection along with the brand’s new campus ambassadors.

And because heritage sneakers and brands are well revered well beyond Manila’s underground scene, partying it up at the launch were various personalities from celebrities like Lharby Policarpio, Zonia Mejia, Raine Salamante, fashion models Wanda Chen, Janesca Margaux, Cris Lomotan, Anjo Lazaro, athletes Pia Gaiser, Alfred Valbuena, Deanna Wong, Jema Galanza, Josh Villanueva, social media personalities Almira Teng, Rex Intal, Kimpoy Feliciano, Michelle Dy, Lance de Ocampo, and DBTK founders Emil and Vince Javier with whom PONY released a sneaker collaboration last year.

 

   

                  

 

To set the mood for the night, DJ Waffster and Jerik Platon treated everyone with their beats, while Manila’s rising hip hop artist ASTRO KIDD got everyone hyped with his rap songs.

 

The Cavetta collection is now available online via www.pony.com.ph and at Complex Lifestyle Stores located at Glorietta 2, Edsa Shangri-la Mall, Uptown Mall BGC, Trinoma Mall, and U.P. Town Center in QC.
