THE RECAP: PONY ROCK N’ RUMBLE 2

Iconic American brand PONY Footwear brought its loyal customers to Sin City, gathering rock fans and MMA enthusiasts in a Vegas-style event billed as “Rock N’ Rumble Year 2.” With its battle cry of “Let’s Get It On!” resounding during a night of music and mayhem, fans and attendees embody Pony’s devil-may-care, non-conformist attitude and chose to be where the real party’s at.

Held recently at Elements @ Centris in Quezon City and highlighted by girls, grit and a gaggle of rock stars, Pony’s near year-end blowout mixed elements the vibrant city is known for with the brand’s own essence of uniqueness and individuality.

Hosted by TV personality Joyce Pring and in-demand DJ and event host Rico Robles, it was a night of adult entertainment and rebel rock with a cacophony of sexy girls, a Mixed Martial Arts competition, and performances from today’s rising indie bands.

A throng of live rock enthusiasts trooped to the venue to witness the year’s show-stopping event that only a rebellious brand like Pony can put together. In an industry of cool, only a few displays a truly authentic spirit of rock and Pony has aligned with fiercely independent and unique bands that embody this.

Far from the confines of small clubs, the massive Pony stage became the night’s wicked playground for April Morning Skies, Save Me Hollywood, Jejaview and Hilera, where, drenched in spotlight, they played to the audience’s rapt attention and rousing reception.

Far from the confines of small clubs, the massive Pony stage became the night’s wicked playground for April Morning Skies, Save Me Hollywood, Jejaview and Hilera, where, drenched in spotlight, they played to the audience’s rapt attention and rousing reception.

In between rockin’ performances, hot ladies in scant, skin-tight outfits lent a hand to sexy games participated in by select PONY customers while the rest of the attendees enjoyed the PONY exhibit featuring their most kickass designs as well as freebies, photo ops with naughty booth girls and other activities inside the venue.

Happening on the octagon built for the event at the center of the venue, powerhouse MMA stalwarts had three show-stopping fights that kept the attendees enthralled. Nowhere else could MMA enthusiasts witness the furious display of strength and prowess than at “Rock N’ Rumble 2” and, at the end of Pony’s big night, only the event’s attendees had front-row, in-your-face seats (and cage-side view) to such memorable matches.

The first match set the tone of excitement for the others where, after three breathtaking rounds, Danny Kingad of Team Lakay beat Reymon Doliguez of Submission Sport Philippines.

The second fight brought two female fighters to the ring in a seeming upset match where Jenjen Damaso of Team Cordillera Strikers nearly pulled an MMA debut upset victory over Asian open Brazilian Jiujitsu gold medalist, Geli Bulaong  before the latter ruthlessly pinned the newbie down, just as the third round ended, to win the match.

The third match was even more intense, where Karan Malli of Cavite Top Team put the pressure of opponent Reign Sotto of Submission Sport Philippines until the latter also took back the power to sustain his rule. The three-round match ended in a split decision with Sotto still reigning supreme.

Along with the official music channel, MTV Pinoy, whose crew was on hand to cover the whole event, “Pony Rock N’ Rumble 2″presented by PONY Footwear got it going on thanks to Premiere Condoms and No Fear Apparel.
